Monique Blanchard
AYTT Facilitator

Monique Blanchard

She had to study twice as hard as the the other participants, but with the strength of the 'spiritual warrior' within, she made it. This was only the beginning!

Since then she has continuously pursued her study of yoga and took several trainings: Yoga for Seniors, Yoga for Kids, Yin Yoga, and in August 2010 she completed her 500-hour teacher training with AYTT.

Monique has owned her little yoga studio in Caraquet, NB since 2005 and teaches several classes a week. Teaching gives her the opportunity to share her love for yoga and the chance to meet and discover the wonderful people in her community.

Monique is from Caraquet, New Brunswick, a small French town on the beautiful Acadian Peninsula. She practices several sports, but her two favourites are biking and cross-country skiing.

She came to yoga about ten years ago. With a couple of other women, she decided to meet once a week and practice yoga together. Monique enjoyed it so much she immediately started studying yoga by herself, but she quickly realised it was not enough. She realised she had to go further in the exploration of yoga -- most importantly to share it with another.

So with the support of her husband and two sons, in 2004 she began the AYTT 200 hour program in Halifax. “What an incredible journey" she would say, "coming from a French town, barely speaking English."
