Anatomy and Asana
Total of 60 hours over 7 days
Anatomy and Injury Prevention - 34 hours
Learn the basics of Anatomy including major muscle groups, bones, tissues and organs. Understand how joints work, how the spine can withstand forces and how the strain-stress curve works. These principles will be applied to our yoga postures and sitting practice.
We will learn techniques to protect the knees, lift the arches, create space for backbends, save the neck, protect the shoulders and find optimal positioning for the spine.
Posture Assists Workshop - 26 hours
Learn clear strategies for applying physical assists to students’ postures. A student’s practice can be progressed or deepened (while still maintaining awareness and alignment), when appropriate assists are applied.
Hands and props are useful tools to teach the body certain movements and actions that can be deeply ingrained in our bodies and minds.
